Food Spot | Lorenzo's Way Greenbelt

By huayyu - 9/13/2019

If you want to experience Filipino food at its best, served in somewhat high-end dining then Lorenzo's Way is the place to go.  Conceptualized by Larry J. Cruz, founder of LJC Restaurants, this restaurant is a must for tourists who want to taste Filipino dishes as it is located right at the heart of Makati Business District.  Good for business travelers who don't have time to explore our country's amazing dishes.

Lorenzo's Way has an added personal touch from Larry Cruz because some of the dishes served are from his own ideas.

The restaurant is accessible from Makati Business District since it is located at Greenbelt.  Plus it has a fancy ambiance so if you have foreign visitors coming, you could bring them to this restaurant to experience Filipino dishes.

Here are what we ordered.

BAKED CHEESY SPINACH: PHP 295.00

Picky eaters, don't be afraid of the word spinach because it doesn't taste like spinach at all.  The cheese, spinach, banana blossom and garlic all complimented each other well.  It tastes more like a cheese dip to me.  A perfect way to sneak in that vegetable in your diet.

KESONG PUTI CAPRESE: PHP 275.00

Not really a fan of Kesong Puti because they taste bland.  This dish actually compliments well together with Keson Puti.  Still bland but it now has a distinct taste.

BANGUS FILLET WITH KANGKONG BALACHIAN: PHP 455.00

The twist here is that this dish is served with crispy fried glass noodles.  I didn't really like this dish much because there is too much glass noodle and the fish just tastes like the one you cook at home with a simple marinade.

COCO LOCO PRAWNS: PHP 675.00

Two of my favorites in one dish! Shrimps and Coconut Milk.  This is one of the dishes that I really liked at Lorenzo's Way.  The coconut milk is not too overpowering.

SUGPO SA ALIGUE: PHP 675.00

I was disappointed with this dish because I was expecting a rich flavor coming from the aligue or crab fat.  I much prefer Coco Loco Prawns.  Not only that but both prawn dishes are too expensive.  If you compute it, one piece of prawn is around Php200.00!!!

SIKRETO NI MARIA CLARA (SECRET OF MARIA CLARA) : PHP 185.00

This one will make you curious about what this dessert is.  They even made it mysterious on their menu.  It says, find out what the villages swain swoon in delight.  So I am letting you in on the secret.   Suman, Mango and Vanilla Ice Cream.  Combine all and you get Sikreto ni Maria Clara.  Definitely recommended.

Overall, Lorenzo's Way is a bit expensive.  I would recommend this for business travelers who want to taste Filipino dishes but don't have the time.
